What is a USI and do I need a USI (Unique Student Identifier) Number?

A USI is a reference number made up of numbers and letters. Creating a USI is free. A USI is required for students undertaking nationally recognised training (qualifications, accredited courses, skill sets and units of competency) unless exempt. This includes international students studying in Australia. If you don’t have a USI, you will not receive your qualification or statement of attainment.

Is there an Online Component?

Yes, there is. By doing the online section, this significantly reduces the course time as you have done the pre learning. Don’t worry if you don’t have access to a computer, it can be done on your mobile phone. It is simple and easy to log into our system to do. If you don’t have a computer or phone, we do have options available for you to still participate.

How long does my first aid certificate last for?

Your first aid certificate is valid for three (3) years from the date of issue. The CPR component of the course is valid for 12 months and this will need to be updated annually for you to keep your certificate current. You will need to renew your first aid certificate once it has expired.

Billing and payments?

TalkSmart Training does require payment before the course. This can be done by direct deposit or Stripe.

Cash will be accepted on the day. Certificates won’t be able to be issued unless payment is received on or prior to the day.

What courses does TalkSmart Training offer?

We deliver a full range of nationally recognised first aid courses including HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support, HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, and HLTAID012 Provide First aid in an Education and Care Setting. We also run specialist courses such as Anaphylaxis and Asthma management, Low Voltage Rescue Courses, Course In Verifying The Correct Use Of Adrenaline Injector Devices, Spinal Injury Care and Level 1 Sports Trainer Courses. We also offer a range of online and non-accredited courses including first aid for parents and carers, youth mental health, mental health support along with medication administration refreshers for disability support workers.

Do you come to us, or do we come to you?

We come to you. TalkSmart Training is a mobile provider, we travel to your workplace, school, club, or home to deliver training- wherever you’re based across Echuca, Kerang, Shepparton, Swan Hill, Deniliquin, Bendigo and the surrounding regions.

Who are your courses suitable for?

Our courses are designed for everyone- businesses, individuals, tradies, schools, teachers, parents, childcare workers, students, sporting clubs and community groups. Sessions can be tailored for small private groups or larger workplace team

Are your courses nationally recognised?

Yes. Our first aid courses are nationally recognised and delivered and assessed on behalf of a Allens Training Pty. Ltd who is a Registered Training Organisation RTO90909. We also offer non-accredited courses for people who want practical skills without a formal qualification such as our First Aid for Parents and Carers course

How long does a first aid certificate last?

Most first aid certificates are valid for three years, with CPR components typically needing to be refreshed annually. We’ll let you know the exact validity period for your specific course and can help schedule your certificate renewal before it expires.
